Emmy Award
I'm so honored to have won my first Emmy for Make A Wish Mondays! This organization is incredible! Thank you Mike Burke, CEO of Make A Wish CT, for helping me come up with this idea. Mike Dominick for helping me with every wish story! Make A Wish CT for making me feel like a part of your wish family. And to all the Make A Wish kids... you have touched my life more than you know. I am changed, truly impacted forever because of you. Thank you.

Make A Wish Gala

It was truly an honor to host Make A Wish CT's 25th Anniversary Gala at Mohegan Sun. Everyone was so generous. We raised more than $400,000! Hosting with Joe D'Ambrosio was a blast - voice of the UCONN Huskies! But we were all there for one reason... to raise money for all the Make A Wish kids. These children sometimes lose their childhood... fighting illnesses, going through surgeries, etc. But Make A Wish gives them a day or a week to forget all that. It's an amazing organization, and I was truly honored to host this event. Thank you to CEO Mike Burke for the beautiful trophy. It means so much to me, and thank you Make A Wish for everything you do.

IN THE COMPANY OF WOMEN LUNCHEON
I had the honor of speaking at the youth reception before the
The Creating Opportunities Youth Reception, sponsored by the YWCA, welcomed young women from all across the state to participate in the reception prior to the luncheon. I shared a motivational speech to the young women - which focused on journalism as a career and personal insight about the field as a woman. I wanted to motivate the young women to pursue their dreams and actively engage opportunities throughout their lives.

2010 Hartford St. Patrick's Day Parade
The crowds were way down at the annual Hartford St. Patrick's Day Parade, but the hearty, stalwart souls who turned were determined to come and enjoying every minute. Nor did the inhospitable weather deter the parade itself. The usual array of fife and drum corps, bagpipers, twirlers and Irish dancers were all in attendance, many, though not all, sporting serious rain gear.

Thank You USA Gymnastics!
First, I want to thank USA Gymnastics for donating a VIP Package for the 2010 National Championships - which will take place at the XL Center!
Be sure to attend the Morrin Education Benefit tonight.
Also, since I'm a gymnastics fan, I've included a link to my blog from last summer when I covered gymnastics at the US Olympic Games for the Olympic News Service.
I've included a few pictures for you as well...
